DIRECTOR

-

Filmmaker and visual artist Ann Oren (born in 1979 in Tel Aviv) lives and works in Berlin. She studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York. In her films, she explores, through various audiovisual approaches, the themes of intimacy and identity, as well as their absence. By blurring the boundaries between the plant world, the animal world and human beings, she questions what it means to be both a product of digital culture and a human being belonging to our ecosystem. After several short films and experimental films, she completed her first feature film, Piaffe, in 2022.
Piaffe premiered in the international competition at the Locarno Film Festival in 2022.
