SYNOPSIS

In 1961, a Mont Blanc expedition brought together seven elite Italian and French mountaineers, led by Walter Bonatti, to attempt the unprecedented ascent of the Central Pillar of Frêney. This challenge turned into a tragedy when the climbers found themselves trapped by a relentless storm. Isolated and exhausted at an altitude of 4,500 metres, they fought for survival. Amid hallucinations, sacrifices and heartbreaking losses, only two members reached the Gamba refuge.
